This weekend see’s the young team of Craig Whyte and Daniel Forsyth team up again to contest the Hytorc Stages and to get both their 2010 seasons underway. The round counts as the championship opener for the Scottish Tarmack Rally Championship and is based at Ingliston, near Edinburgh.

This will be the pairings first outing together since they finished a creditable 39th overall at last years Kingdom Stages in November. Whyte, 21, and Forsyth, 16, will once again campaign their Peugeot 205 GTi through eight tricky stages throughout the day. Whilst this marks Whyte’s third year competiting in the sport, for his young navigator, it’s only his ever second event. “After we contested Crail at the end of last year I was well and truly hooked! The atmosphere and the buzz of competiting are brilliant so when Craig called and asked me to do this event there was no doubt in my mind what to say!” Forsyth commented. Both Whyte and Forsyth are committee members of the 63 Car Club, Elgin.

The event will also mark the newly-elected 63 Car Club President David Law’s first competitive outing this year. Law, From Huntly, has once again teamed up with the highly experienced co-driver James Morrison for the event. Morrison, a joiner from Elgin, made a co-driving comeback last year alongside to partner Law, 20, at the Kingdom Stages at Crail. The Kingdom Stages was Law’s first ever Rally as a driver but it ended in a premature end after his gearbox brove after the penultimate stage of the day. Law’s Peugeot 106 however has spent the winter months having its gearbox repaired after his early finish on his debut event.

Craig Whyte and Daniel Forsyth are seeded car 33 out of a 45 strong entry and David Law and James Morrison are seeded 43.
