Technical Assistance for Citroe?n Racing Trophy UK 2012!

There is certainly a lot happening regarding the newly announced Citroe?n Racing Trophy UK 2012, especially for the forthcoming Bulldog Rally on 23rd/24th March, round two of the new look British Rally Championship. The latest news is that DGMSPORT will have two brand new Citroe?n DS3 R3’s available for the event. The machines will be provided in an arrive and drive package or tailored quotation for potential drivers on British, Irish and European events. DGMSPORT Managing Director David Greer is indeed excited about this new venture.
”I am looking forward to building a strong relationship with Citroe?n. They have set an example of their commitment to excellence in the World Championship Campaigns with the Saxo, Xsara, C4 and C2. The development and engineering of the DS3 R3 has harnessed the best of Citroen’s decade at the pinnacle of rallying to produce the ultimate R3 class car. DGMSPORT has a strong pedigree within the one make challenge format and we are excited to be working with Raymond Moore and Charles Hurst.”

The DGMSPORT team will carry the Citroen Racing Trophy spare parts and provide technical assistance on event for all the DS3 drivers and teams. Trophy co-coordinator Raymond Moore is very happy with the new announcement.
“I am pleased to be working with DGM on this, and I believe this will greatly benefit all of the BRC DS3 customers. Now they will have a full range of spares on event, from a 10p screw to a complete gearbox, and also technical advice to help keep the cars running correctly. With DGM also purchasing two new DS3’s there is now a great opportunity for other driver’s to join the series, so things are really moving forward.”

Citroen entries for the Bulldog rally include longtime Rallye Sunseeker leader Jarkko Nikara, Desi Henry who finished a fine second, Osian Pryce who took fourth, and Tom Cave who hopes to debut his DS3. With two hire cars now also available the Citroen ranks are swelling and with €11,000 in prize money on offer for each of the coming rounds the incentive’s are high. With the MSA British Rally Championship catering for two wheel drive cars from this season onwards, overall honors are at stake, and Citroen UK, currently second in the manufacturer’s series would very much like to climb one place higher.

PRIZES GALORE AND EXCITEMENT IN STORE IN NEW CITROËN RACING TROPHY UK 2012!

Following on from the successful outings by the Citroën DS3 runners on the Rallye Sunseeker, Citroën Racing are delighted to announce the exciting 2012 Citroën Racing Trophy UK, with a fantastic prize fund on offer. Starting on round two of the MSA British Rally Championship, the Bulldog Rally on 23/24 March, the Citroën DS3 R3 mounted crews will be competing for a fabulous 6000€ prize for an overall victory, with 3500€ awarded for second place and €1500 for third.

It’s a big boost for the Citroën crews with 11,000€ on offer from Citroën Racing for each of the five remaining rounds. Coupled to this, there is a fabulous end of year bonus prize for the highest placed junior driver, under 23 years of age in the Citroën Racing Trophy UK. They will be entitled to a 10,000€ spare parts voucher from Citroën Racing, to help them participate in the all-tarmac Rallye Du Var in France at the end of the season. Coupled to this is a prize of a 5000€ parts voucher for the first driver aged over 23 in the series. This all totals to a staggering 70,000€ on offer for the 2012 Citroën Racing Trophy UK!

The Citroën Racing Trophy UK will be decided over the best five out of six scores, the positions earned on the weekend’s Rallye Sunseeker counting for the series. Citroën UK are also eligible to earn points scored by privateer teams in the manufacturers’ championship, which started from Rallye Sunseeker. The registration fee for the crews is 1500€, and in return for this they will not only qualify for the prize fund, but also receive a pair of Citroën Racing rally overalls, fire-proof underwear and heavy duty rally jackets.

Trophy co-ordinator Raymond Moore is delighted with the news.
“It’s great to work with Citroen Racing on this and I’m very much looking forward to the new Citroën Racing Trophy UK this season. For me it’s an exciting time, working with a new car in the DS3, and some new driver’s also. It’s really a new venture, and I was very happy to see the performances of the DS3’s on the Sunseeker last weekend. I think the new format of the BRC, for two wheel drive cars is also new and certainly will provide some thrilling races if last weekend is anything to go by.”
