Each crew will be nominated to represent their respective countries by their fellow competitors. Each chosen crew will carry their national flag and special decals to highlight that they are representing their country. The winner will receive a prize fund of £500 and a Trophy.

Both the UK and Irish KA Championship have been decided with James Travers securing the Irish Title and Shaun Woffinden securing the UK title. However second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh places have yet to be decided in the Irish Ka Championship. The greatest battle will be for second place with John O’Dowd, John Carroll and Oliver Stanley still capable of taking runners up position.

“We are delighted to welcome the UK Ford KA competitors to Ireland and we are looking forward to hosting the inaugural Inter-Nations KA Cup here in Ireland. It will be very exciting and hopefully Ireland can lift the Inter-Nations Crown” said Declan Foley, Brand Manager, Ford Ireland.

“The closeness of the competition is a testament to the drivers ability and the fairness of the competition.” said Eddie Nolan, Chairman and Managing Director, Ford Ireland. All of the drivers competing under the same conditions, in identically powered Ford Ka Rally Cars will mean that the best driver will win on the day.

The 2000 Ford of Ireland Ford KA Rally Championship is the first, one make, manufacturer supported Championship in the history of Irish Rallying. Designed to promote young Irish rallying talent, the Championship is part of Ford\'s stairway to success that sees the Ford Motor Company providing young drivers with competitive rally machinery throughout their racing careers. Round 8 the final round of the championship sees the army of Ford KA’s travel to Cork on the 7th & 8th of October where we can again expect more close action from some of Ireland’s up and coming racing talents.
