DENNING – KA RALLYMASTER
by Tom Collins

Liam Denning from Dublin took both an impressive Ford KA and overall Class one victory at the Punchestown Rallymasters.
Punchestown Racecourse experienced horsepower of a different kind with 80 rallycars in total competing on a 2.4 all tarmac rally stage. 14 Ford KA's competed on the event as a pre- season test.

Liam Denning in the Dennings Garage/Fort Motors Ford KA set an excellent time on the first stage, his nearest challenger John Carroll a further nine seconds in arrears. Carroll fought back beating Denning by three seconds on the second stage and four seconds on the final stage however the time loss was too great to make up.
"I am absolutely thrilled to secure both my first KA and class rally victory .I really went for a good time on the first stage and it paid off as I caught all .the other crews napping. When the Championship resumes, I hope to stay on my winning way" said Liam.

"The competitiveness of the Ford KA's once again has been proven with only eighteen seconds separating the top four crews and Liam Denning winning the 1400cc class in a 1300cc Ford KA. Punchestown Rallymasters has been a success, the public and competitors alike have long awaited the resumption of the sport and hopefully traditional tarmac rallying will be able to resume in the very near future" said Declan Foley, Ford KA Brand Manager.
