After the excitement of the first half of the season where we had different winners for each of the 5 championship rounds it is almost time to get back out rallying again after the long summer break! With such strong competition for the overall title the second half of the season is going to be a great battle. Leslie Young/Lewis Boyd currently lead the points table on 97, with Benny Grainger/David Howard in 2nd on 86, and Ciaran Carey/Rachel Muldoon in 3rd on 85. Queens University Motor Club lead the teams championship from Dungannon MC, but it is Enniskillen MC in 4th who are really the team on the move with a large haul of points in the previous 3 rallies.

The next round of the McGrady Insurance Navigation Rally Championship will be the Dungannon Motor Club Moonraker Rally on Friday 5th September. The Moonraker is a classic event, having been run since the 1960s. Clerk of the Course David White and his team will be making full use of the great roads in their part of the country again this year to lay on a route that will be enjoyable for both driver and navigator. The club have planned an 80 mile route for the experienced crews to tackle, and a shorter 55 mile route for beginner crews. There will be support available on the night to show new crews the ropes. Navigation rallying is a grassroots motorsport so is open to everyone, no car modification or competition licence is required. Fill in an entry form and then just bring along your car, your crew, your map, and your enthusiasm for motorsport on the night and you will have some great fun and a new hobby.
