Once again Enniskillen Motor Club Ltd [EMC] has Lakeland Tours as sponsor for their annual Autotest run under a Clubman Permit. The event is a counting round of the 2014 Aughrim Service Station ANICC N Ireland Autotest Championship and also the EMC’s Championship for Drivers. The first car will screech away at the very competitor and spectator-friendly time of midday on this Saturday 24th May. The venue is Fisher Engineering’s yard across from St Angelo Airfield.

Last year’s winner, Peter Grimes in his venerable ‘special’, will have the current NI Championship leader, Paul Blair, in his Ferrari-red ‘Stryker’ to contend with.

Other notable entries at this stage are Robert Dickson [Mini], Robin Lyons [Mini] and Steven Ferguson [Mini Special]. A possible entry in a Westfield should be current British Champion, Richard Pinkley. Pinkley may well upset the applecart if he can just manage, due to other commitments, to catch the cross-channel ferry in time. Blair is the on-form driver at the moment, taking a sensational win on the recently televised Paddy Hopkirk Gala held in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast.

Clerk of the Course, Keith Boyd, will be hoping for better weather than last year when Fisher’s yard was under an inch of water and provided some really spectacular feats of driving.
